Looking ahead, with an aim to build itself into an internationally recognized accounting institute and an open development strategy for mobilizing quality educational resources around the globe, SNAI will endeavor to become a cradle for bringing up financial and accounting leaders, an important think tank for financial and accounting policymaking and businesses’ financial operation, an important source for gathering and disseminating accounting information and a vital platform for international exchange in the fields of finance and accounting, and by doing so, to better serve the development of Chinese economy and society as well as the capacity building of developing countries in the fields of finance and economics.
The Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI) which is co-located at SNAI, was initiated by the Chinese Central Government for capacity building under the APEC framework. Since the establishment in 2001, AFDI has conducted various capacity building trainings, seminars, forums and research on regional financial and development issues. Not only have these efforts facilitated knowledge and experience exchange, but also enhanced mutual understanding among the developing countries. In 2015, AFDI launched the Master of Professional Accounting Program, which has been approved as one of the “Master’s Program for Developing Countries” by the Ministry of Commerce. The Program aims to provide professional master degree education to the young and mid-aged finance officials in the world.
